Starting with the lens of the School of Cold, Shang Han Lun, we’ll discuss a Chinese medicine understanding of viral infections including COVID-19. We’ll look at the progression of viruses and how they can transform into heat (inflammation) and effect several organ systems including respiration (Lungs), circulation (Heart), digestion (Stomach), and cognition (Spleen) through affecting the brain.
Brendan Kelly is an acupuncturist, herbalist, author, and educator who specializes in integrating East Asian Medicine for the treatment of chronic illnesses. Brendan has a master’s degree in acupuncture from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture (AFEA). He also has extensive experience treating seemingly difficult diagnoses including all stages of Lyme – from initial tick bite through late state neurological symptoms – COVID, and long COVID. Brendan also teaches about many aspects of Chinese medicine and western herbal medicine at schools, universities, educational centers and conferences around the US and Europe.
